The Art of Pruning
POSTED: August 27, 2007

David Mas Masamoto is a new friend this year. He is an organic peach farmer, writer, teacher, and father living near Fresno where he and his family grow Suncrest peaches. There are only a few weeks each July when these jewels are available. A member of my family has been known to almost camp out by our local market when his peaches are in season. In Mas’ books and other writings lie the secrets to these magnificent fruits and, often, secrets for living.

He writes regularly for the Fresno Bee. One of the articles in the archives is entitled the “Art of Pruning”. http://www.fresnobee.com/columnists/masumoto/story/26675.html
Reading what it takes to create what he does can bring a new and deeper appreciation for the final product. I’m sure many farmers who grow our food do so with the same intention.
